About PRP Treatment

What it is: PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma and this diverse treatment can be used for hair loss, PRP facials, or even facial rejuvenation. Plasma is a component found in our blood that aids in cell growth. When plasma is injected into the area, it will stimulate new cell growth and promote healing. This can help with hair loss by promoting new follicle growth, stimulate collagen growth for rejuvenated skin, improve skin texture, and reduce wrinkles.

What to expect/downtime:

This treatment begins by drawing the patients blood sample and is spun to separate the red blood cells and plasma. Once the blood is spun, we retrieve the plasma and inject it in the desired location specific to the type of treatment performed. The procedure is minimally invasive and doesn’t require any downtime, allowing you to get back to your daily activities almost immediately. Mild swelling and redness may occur, but these typically subside within a few days. Results will begin to show over the following weeks as collagen production increases.

Precare:

It is beneficial to eat a hearty meal and drink fluids prior to your PRP treatment in order to receive a good sample of plasma.
